Obituary: Shirley I. Stone

Shirley I. Stone, 71, a Carson City resident for the past 12 years, died July 27, 2000, in Silver Springs. She was born Oct. 2, 1928, in the Panama Canal Zone to Walter and Cecelia Cope Zimmerman.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in the California Bay area.

Mrs. Stone was a homemaker. She was a volunteer for the Carson-Tahoe Hospital Auxiliary. She loved crafts, including knitting, sewing and porcelain dolls and she loved her grandchildren.

Among her survivors are her son Robert of Suisun, Calif.; daughters Sheri Shoening of Silver Springs and Diane Rafael of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; sister Ruth Anderson of San Jose, Calif., and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
