Parks and recreations offers painting classes

The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department will offer a beginning painting class for children ages 6-12 instructed by professional artist Mark Tompkins. The class will be held from Tuesday Aug. 1 to Aug. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the Carson Valley Middle School.

Each month students will work from a picture selected by the instructor and develop their own painting from start to finish. The instructor will provide the necessary supplies. The class fee is $40 with a $5 supply fee payable to the instructor.
