Public invited to field trips hosted by Bureau of Mines and Geology

The public is invited to two free public field trips offered by the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology to celebrate "Earth Science Week."

Participants will meet at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at the Evans Street parking lot across from the Fleischmann Agriculture Building on the University of Nevada, Reno campus.

Those wishing to go on the Oct. 14 trip, should gather at 8:45 a.m. in the parking lot of Western Nevada Community College at the end of West College Parkway in Carson City.

Participants should bring their own high-clearance vehicle, picnic lunch, water, sturdy shoes. Each field trip will be guided by local geologists.
