Q-Tip: Strange behavior means it's that time of year again

If your husband, significant other, boy friend, brother, uncle, cousin, next door neighbor, co-worker, close friend, etc., has been acting strangely lately, relax.

There is a good reason for that unusual behavior.

It's that time of the year again.

The 2000 rifle, buck mule deer hunting season will open on Saturday morning for many of the big game management areas located in the western portion of the State of Nevada.

Also opening at the same time will be the 2000 rifle, antlerless mule deer hunting season for those very same management areas.

If you're interested, the Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW) big game management area Nos. 192, 194-196, 201-206, 211, 212 and 291, all in this part of Nevada, will all open at sunrise on Saturday. All of those seasons will close on Dec. 3.

Management area Nos. 192, 195, 196 and 291 are the ones that surround Carson City. Area No. 192 is just to the south of Carson City, 195 is north, 196 is west and 291 is east.

Only those hunters with rifle deer hunting tags received through the computerized drawing process, earlier this year, are permitted to hunt.

So, if your husband, significant other, boy friend, brother, uncle, cousin, next door neighbor, co-worker, close friend, etc., drew one of those tags and they manage to bag a mule deer, put a hit on them for a deer steak. A gourmet dinner of venison on some cold, frosty winter night would be a memorable, dining experience. Let them do all the work and you enjoy the benefits of their labor.

As a special note, hunters or any other individuals, while in the Great Outdoors, who notice any unusual or illegal activities are encouraged to call the 24-hour Nevada Operation Game Thief Hot-Line at (800) 992-3030.

For information, call the Nevada Division of Wildlife at 688-1500 during regular business hours.
