This is a half-mile interpretive hike through the Bowers' "back 40" to get acquainted with some of the Sierra plants and animals and learn about the people and places that shaped Nevada's past.

Participants should wear sturdy shoes and bring water. This hike is not recommended for children under age seven.

Tours of the Bowers Mansion, which offers a glimpse of Nevada life in the 1860s, are also available beginning every half hour. Bowers Mansion is open from 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. seven days a week through Labor Day.
