Report poachers at Ross Gold

Carson City now has its first urban fishery with the recent planting of 500 Tasmanian-strain rainbow trout in the small pond at Ross Gold Park.

Those trout were stocked in those waters through the combined efforts of the Carson Fly Fishing Club, the Carson City Parks and Recreation Department and the Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW).

Unfortunately, those fish are almost certain to attract the attention of some individuals who might be tempted to catch more than their legal limits.

NDOW requests that anyone, who sees anything of a doubtful or suspicious nature at that park, report those activities to Operation Game Thief (OGT).

OGT is Nevada's official anti-poaching program.

OGT has a 24-hour Hotline at (800) 992-3030.

Callers can remain anonymous and receive cash rewards for information that leads to the conviction of poachers.

For information, call Rob Buonamici, Operation Game Thief Co-Ordinator for NDOW at 688-1500 during business hours.
