Waterfowl hunters interested in hunting at the Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge are reminded that it is currently closed to hunting.

The refuge, long popular with duck, goose and swan hunters, is located near Fallon.

That closure is due to the low level of water at the refuge.

The closure was made by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the federal agency that manages the refuge.

The Stillwater Wildlife Management Area (Timber Lakes, Likes Lakes, Indian Lakes) is open to hunting.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has prepared a map delineating the open and closed areas. It can be obtained at their office at 1000 Auction Road in Fallon.

For information, call the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Fallon at (775) 423-5128.
