The Nevada Artists' Association Inc. of Northern Nevada is celebrating its 50th anniversary during the months of November and December.

The association was incorporated Nov. 29, 1950, with 35 artists as charter members. Artists from Carson City, Reno, Gardnerville and outlying communities signed the charter.

A celebration dinner was recently held at the NAA Gallery to take note of the 50 years. Attending were two of the original charter members, James and Jeraldine Lawrence of Gardnerville.

The Gallery, known as the King Street Gallery, is in the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St. It opened with its first exhibit May 11, 1977. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. During the holidays, the gallery will be closed Dec. 20 until Jan. 2.

With the new construction of the parking lot at the Brewery Arts Center, visitors to the gallery are asked to use the south side entrance on Second Street.
