Time is running out to register for Sunday's Silver State Marathon. Those interested in registering for the marathon, half-marathon, 10k walk or 10k run may do so Friday from noon to 7 p.m. at the Nevada Appeal or at the Peppermill Hotel in Reno on Saturday from noon until 7 p.m. Those who have already registered may also pick up their race packets at that time.
The marathon kicks off Sunday morning at 6 at Bowers Mansion Regional Park, located 10 miles north of Carson City. The half marathon and 10k run begins at 7 a.m. and the 10k walk at 7:10 a.m.
More than 800 runners have registered so far and volunteers are still needed. Those interested in helping are encouraged to call 849-0419.
