Turkey Trot 2000, the final event of the Sagebrush Stompers running club's season, will be held this morning with 5- and 10-kilometer races starting from Straw Hat Pizza in South Carson City.
The 10-K starts at 9 a.m., to be followed by the 5-K run and walk at 9:15.
Both courses will be familiar to local runners and walkers who participated in the Dirty, Dusty, Damn Hot Relay in August.
Turkeys and pies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age category.
Race day registration is $20 (a family rate of $60 for two adults and two children is available), with proceeds going to benefit the Ross Clinic and FISH. The Turkey Trot is presented by Sunset Rotary of Carson City. The fee includes a T-shirt and refreshments.
