The community blood supply of A & O blood is critically low and all blood types are needed to meet the supply needed for the Labor Day holiday. United Blood Services of Carson City and Reno are asking the public's help in filling this need.
Model Dairy has offered to give every donor a pint of ice cream through Sept. 6. to encourage community participation. Eat well and drink plenty of fluids like juice and water before donating. And remember to bring your donor card or identification. Healthy people age 17 years and up, who weigh at least 110 pounds, are eligible to donate every eight weeks.
