UNR to conduct two-day coaching clinic Sept. 29-30

RENO - The University of Nevada men's basketball program will conduct a two-day coaching clinic for all interested basketball coaches September 29-30 at Lawlor Events Center.

Among the featured instructors will be Pete Newell and Tex Winter. Newell is a member of the International Basketball Hall of Fame and coached California to the 1959 NCAA Championship. He also coached the 1960 Olympic team.

Winter has served as an assistant coach with seven world championship teams with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls.

Others scheduled to attend will be Nevada Coach Trent Johnson, Reno High Coach Pete Padgett; Cal Coach Ben Braun; and former collegiate coaches Lynn Nance and Tom Asbury.
