NAPA, Calif. - The body of a 16-year-old Vallejo teen-age girl was found Friday morning in a ditch in Napa County.
A man on his way to work at 6:53 a.m. spotted someone lying in a ditch at the end of Camino Dorado. Emergency personnel determined the fully clothed black female was dead.
Authorities said the girl's shoes were missing, but there were no obvious signs of trauma.
Napa Sheriff investigators walked the streets of Vallejo trying to retrace the girl's steps after she left her home sometime Thursday afternoon.
Investigators have determined her identity and are following up on several leads. They did not release her name.
