Annual shooting outing offered by CVI in Minden

Feb. 25-26 are the dates of the 14th annual Carson Valley Inn Shooting Outing.

The two-day event officially begins on the evening of Feb. 25 with a buffet-style game feed, complete with a hosted bar, at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden.

The next morning, the activities will shift to the Red Hills Hunting Preserve near Topaz Lake.

At that private preserve, there will be a total of $1,500 in cash prizes waiting for the top shotgun shooter in each of four different "flights."

All of the shooting contestants will shoot 100 targets of sporting clays and 25 targets each of five-stand and trap.

For those who are interested, there will also be a day of optional pheasant hunting or sporting clays on Feb. 25 at the Red Hills Hunting Preserve.
