The Nevada Conservation Corps will bring area youths together for the seventh annual Walker Lake Loon Festival on Saturday.
The NCC AmeriCorps members will collaborate with youths to provide natural history workshops and nature hikes, promote ecological literacy and direct land conservation for Walker Lake, one of Nevada's most precious natural resources. Among the activities are boat trips to view migrating common loons.
The event is sponsored by the Nevada Division of Wildife, Bureau of Land Management and the Nevada Commission on Tourism.
