Authorities seek suspects in death of Fernley woman

FERNLEY, Nev. - Lyon County sheriff's deputies are seeking a woman who was seen near an apartment where a 76-year-old Fernley woman was later found strangled.

Ethel Booton was found dead on Thursday. Deputies were called to her ransacked apartment by her son, Michael Booton, who said he found her there after returning from work in Reno.

An autopsy revealed the victim died of strangulation.

Witnesses reported seeing a woman park a light blue 1988 Dodge Ram Charger and walk up to the apartment between 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Thursday.

The woman is described as white, 5-foot-7, 125 pounds with short blond hair. Investigators said she may be in the company of a white male, 5-foot-8, 145 pounds with a shaved head, glasses and a clean-shaven face.
