The public is invited to two March Chautauqua portrayals of Hannah Keziah Clapp, a noted Carson City and Reno suffragette from the 1800s. Eileen Cohen will play Clapp at 10 a.m. March 7 at the Bureau of Land Management's Carson City Field Office, 5665 Morgan Mill Road.

Cohen was born to immigrant parents who strongly believed that girls should get married and have children while foregoing college. She responded by working two jobs and went to local colleges to obtain her teaching degree.

She taught school for 18 years, worked as a drug and alcohol prevention counselor, served as a residential home contractor and was a successful business owner.
