Brief: Gov. Guinn honored

Gov. Kenny Guinn will be an honored guest at the Carson City Republican Central Committee's annual Lincoln Day Dinner and VIP cocktail party being held Feb. 11 at the Carson Nugget.

The public is invited to join in the celebration of the 191st birthday of the first Republican president of the United States.

Former U.S. Representative and U.S. Senate candidate John Ensign will be the keynote speaker. A special presentation of President Abraham Lincoln will be presented by actor Wally Earhart. The evening will include a silent auction, music by David Fabrizio and vocals by Christine Brown.

A VIP cocktail party will be held in a private home on Kensington Place prior to the dinner with many members of the Grand Old Party and special celebrity guests. The optional cocktail party starts at 5 p.m. and dinner seating will begin at 7 p.m. in the Nugget.

The price is $30 per person for the dinner and $25 for the VIP cocktail party or $50 for the combination. For information, call Helen Glenn, 885-9528.
