State Controller Kathy Augustine will be the featured speaker at the Feb. 15 meeting of the Carson City Republican Women's Club.
A former state assemblywoman and state senator from Clark County, Augustine is the first woman to be elected state controller. As a legislator she served as chairman of the Legislative Affairs and Operations Committee and vice chairman of the Human Resources and Facilities Committee.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Women Executives in State Government.
The Carson City Republican Women's Club meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Carson Nugget. A social hour begins at11 a.m., followed by a buffet lunch. Lunch is $12 per person. The public is invited to attend but reservations must be made prior to the meeting by calling 246-0185.
