Carson City Symphony to play 16th Pops Party concert at Governor's Mansion Sunday

Music from the British Isles is featured at the Carson City Symphony's sixteenth annual Pops Party Concert 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the garden of the Governor's Mansion, North Mountain Street.

The Sierra Highlanders Bagpipers and the Carson Chamber Singers will join the symphony in playing selections from "My Fair Lady," Scottish marches and reels, and a premiere of excerpts from Continental Harmony Composer-in-Residence Jim Cockey's Nevada Dialogues.

Conductor and Music Director David Bugli will lead the symphony in The "Knightsbridge March" by Eric Coates, selections from "The Lord of the Dance" by Ronan Hardiman, and J. S. Bach's "Come Let Us to the Bagpipes Sound." Arthur Pryor's Bluebells of Scotland, featuring Reno trombonist Mark Lenz, will close the first half of the program.
