Commission meets Friday and Saturday

The Nevada State Board of Wildlife Commissioners will meet on Friday and Saturday in Henderson in Southern Nevada.


The commission will meet at the Community College of Southern Nevada, Henderson Campus Lecture Hall at 700 College Dr.


- The Friday agenda begins at 1 p.m. and includes:


Presentation of tenure award for various years of service to an employee of NDOW.


A report on current programs and new initiatives at the Lake Mead Recreation Area.


Review draft revisions of a commission policy entitled Wildlife Damage Management.


An access committee report.


A big game survey committee report.


An update on re-seeding of burned habitat.


- The Saturday agenda will begin at 8:30 a.m. and includes:


Approving budgets for the 17 County Boards to Manage Wildlife.


Establishing quotas for the big game hunts for the 2000-2001 seasons.


A petition to allow persons who are physically impaired to use a cross bow to hunt big game.
