The Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department will be conducting a concealed weapon certification course for ages 18 and up, instructed by Wynn Simon.
The course is an National Rifle Association personal protection course which is recognized in the state of Nevada and El Dorado County, Calif., and is approved for concealed weapon carry permit applicants.
The participant, whether beginner or advance, will be encouraged in the safe use of firearms. The course will conclude with live fire exercises on the range along with a state-mandated qualification shoot and a written test. Class handouts and textbooks are included in the price of the course.
The class will be Oct. 13 and 15 with the live fire exercises taking place Oct. 16 or 17.
