Jensen appointed State Director

RENO - Meg Jensen is the new Deputy State Director for Resources, Lands and Planning in the Bureau of Land Management Nevada State Office, Reno. She will assume her new responsibilities Nov. 7. She is currently the assistant field manager for nonrenewable resources in the bureau's Carson City Field Office.

In her new position, Jensen will oversee lands actions, range management, watershed management, Native American issues, wilderness, recreation, habitat for wildlife including threatened and endangered species, facilities, withdrawal actions and land use planning on bureau-managed public lands across the state.

Jensen has an extensive background in natural resource management and community involvement. She joined the bureau in 1981, in Alaska, where she worked for seven years in a variety of increasingly responsible positions. Before coming to Nevada, Jensen was area manager for the bureau's Safford, Ariz., office.

Jensen is married to H. Michael McQueen and they live in Dayton.
