Two U.S. Navy jets will officially start the annual Nevada Day Parade in Carson City at 10 a.m. today.

Sen. Richard Bryan, D-Nev., confirmed the flyover Thursday night, of two F/A-18 Hornets based at the Fallon Naval Air Station.

"This will be a great way to start the 58th annual Nevada Day Parade," the senator said. "Bonnie and I are thrilled to be participating in the Nevada Day parade for the 21st straight year. And this year will be a special treat for the both of us, since we are going to be joined by the oldest of our three grandchildren who were all born earlier this year."
