Letter: drug costs

Oct. 26, 1999, Associated Press. President Clinton orders a federal study of drug costs saying American seniors shouldn't have to go to Canada to buy medicines at lower prices. He directed that the study be completed within 90 days.

Well, 90 days are up. Anybody see a result? Anybody hear a result? Anybody aware of the study even being done?

Seems to me there was another federal inquiry that never made the light of day. Wasn't there supposed to have been a study of high gas prices back a few months? Never heard anything about that either.

I guess these are just examples of big money and powerful interests sweeping such inquiries under the rug. Seems that when it comes to corporate profits, it's the public be damned.
