Letter: kids deserve punishment

So now we have two teenagers who started a fire Oct. 7 with a model rocket. We slap their hands and dismiss them? Luckily for them, no lives were taken or homes destroyed, or were there?

They could set an example for others to follow in the future. What should follow-up be to make them realize what could have happened if the fire had destroyed homes and most important, lives and pets taken? All for a mere thing; let them do their thing. That is getting to be stale. Do their parents know about their model rocket? Or do they care one way or another, to know how serious it was? Maybe they should be accountable too and share the blame too.
