Man gets 60 days for battery

A Carson City man is guilty of domestic battery and making threats in an alcohol-related domestic fight.

Robin James, 34, pleaded guilty Thursday to the battery and threats charges and in turn, prosecutors dropped an extortion charge.

James, who has been arrested numerous times on suspicion of drug use and violent behavior, will spend 60 days in jail and is ordered to seek domestic violence counseling.

James' wife told the court he is adored by his children and when he is not under the influence of alcohol, he is a model husband.
