A Carson City business manager was arrested Wednesday on charges he battered a woman and discharged a handgun in an apartment.
Scott Aaron Stewart, 30, is being held on $23,000 bail. Officers came to his apartment in the first block of Gibson at 1:35 a.m. to investigate reports of a gunshot. When they arrived a woman reported that she was hit by Stewart, evidenced by redness on her face, according to reports.
He denied hitting the woman.
When officers asked about the gunshot, he claimed no knowledge. Upon further investigation a handgun was found, along with a bullet hole in the bedroom door and a file cabinet.
