MINDEN - A 12-year-old Minden girl has qualified to attend the regional horse show competition in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Brandi Bernard, a Pinon Elementary School student, has been invited to ride and show two horses in the regional horse show in February. Bernard is looking for donations to cover some of her expenses on the 10-day show.

Bernard will be riding and showing horses of trainer Chris Bell-Malysheff from Galena Farms in Minden. The horses are Remington Steel and Thunderheart Stallion. She will be entered in four different classes.

Deadline for entry fees is Dec. 14.

Bernard said she needs help to cover expenses of horse lodging, lodging, stable cleaning, groomers, entry fees, food and show costumes totaling $1,200.

Donations may be made directly to the Greater Nevada Credit Union, account No. 781460.
