Nevada Baseball team inks five for 2001

Of the five, two of the players are pitchers, two are outfielders and one is an infielder.

Brandon Perry will join the Wolf Pack following the end of his career at Durango High School in Las Vegas.

Perry, 5-11, a 175-pound middle infielder, earned first team all-conference honors while batting .421 with six home runs on the Nevada Championship team.

Jason Mackintosh, a 6-foot, 195-pound lefthanded pitcher from South Weber, Utah, will come to Nevada from Cera Cosa Junior College in Ridgecrest, Calif. He was named First Team All-Foothill Conference after going 9-2 with 112 strikeouts in 101 innings of work.

Mackintosh was named the Foothill Conference Pitcher of the Year as a freshman and was drafted in the 36th round by the Chicago Cubs.

Matthew Mairmontes, a 6-4, 190-pound righthanded pitcher, will join the Pack following his career at Monte Vista High School. In his career, Miramontes is 14-6 with four saves and 155 strikeouts in two varsity seasons. He was named first team all-league and was named to the California All-State Team for underclassmen.

Christopher Dickerson, a 6-3, 195-pound outfielder from Van Nuys, Calif., will come to Nevada following his senior season at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks. He hit .486 with six home runs in 70 at bats as a junior.

Michael Hass, a 5-11, 170-pound outfielder, comes to Nevada from Redmond, Wash., where he plays at Redmond High School. He hit .403 in 1999 with 13 home runs and 42 RBI in 23 games. He was named First Team All-Kingco Conference outfielder and earned the Redmond "Amos Bacon Award," the school's most Valuable Player Award.
