Obituary: Agnes Regina Blair

A graveside service for Agnes Regina Blair, 87, a Redlands, Calif., resident for the past two years and former Carson City resident, will be at 11 a.m. today at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Blair died Jan. 19, 2000, at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, Calif. She was born Sept. 24, 1912, in Iowa, to Mathew and Clara Steffens Basten.

Mrs. Blair worked at an antique shop in Virginia City for many years. She enjoyed collecting antiques and traveling. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Scotty" in February 1982; brothers, Leo Basten and Harold Roger Basten and sisters, Emily Mason, Madalyn Schroder, Myrna White, Eleanor Cohn and Mavis Bellendier.

Among her survivors are her sisters, Dorothy Syverson, of Twin Peaks, Calif., Jackie Bellendier, of Maquoketa, Iowa, and Mildred King, of Fort Collins, Colo.; and brother, James Basten, of Edgewood, Iowa.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
