Obituary: Dabert Wyatt

A funeral for Dabert Wyatt, 63, a lifetime Carson Valley resident, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Walton's.

Mr. Wyatt died April 16, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Dec. 23, 1936, in Gardnerville, to Robert and Lesha Coleman Wyatt.

He was career U.S. Army and a Vietnam veteran, serving two tours. He volunteered for a second tour of duty to keep his brother, Harold, from having to go. They sent them both.

He loved running, camping, all outdoor activities and his dogs and especially spending time with his family.

Mr. Wyatt was a past vice chairman of the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, past chairman of the Douglas County Democratic Central Committee and past trustee of the Carson Valley Historical Society in Gardnerville. He was a board member for Washoe Development Enterprise and served on the board for the Washoe Housing Authority. He also served on the SITE Council for the Washoe Tribe Senior Citizens Center. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold.

Among his survivors are his brothers, Vernon of Gardnerville, Daniel of Woodfords, Floyd of Reno and Robert and Lloyd, both of Gardnerville; sisters, Barbara Zieroth, Doris W. Buckhart and Kathie Wyatt, all of Gardnerville and Victoria J. Wyatt of Reno and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Burial will be at the Genoa Cemetery.

Dinner will follow burial at the Dresslerville Gym in Dresslerville.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
