Obituary: George Edward Cowger Sr.

A funeral for George Edward Cowger Sr., 71, an Oakley, Calif., resident for the past year, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Higgins Chapel in Antioch, Calif.

Mr. Cowger died Nov. 19, 1999, in Oakley. He was born March 21, 1928, in Visalia, Calif.

Before moving to Visalia, he lived in Carson City for 11 years, coming from San Pablo, Calif.

Mr. Cowger was a methods planner (machinist) for Mechano Electric in Reno, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, camping and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years, Rosalie, in 1965.

Among his survivors are his daughters, Patricia Burge, of Carson City and Diana Gillies, of Dayton; sons, George Jr., of Antioch and Michael, of Oakley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
