Obituary: Hanna Rubenstein

A graveside service for Hanna Rubenstein, 86, a Carson City resident for the past three years, will be at 11 a.m. at Mount Sinai Memorial Park and Mortuary, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles with burial following.

A gathering of friends and family will be at a later date in Carson City.

Mrs. Rubenstein died April 6, 2000, at Carson Healthcare Center. She was born July 4, 1913, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Leon and Rachel Kochman Nehamkin.

She graduated from Cleveland Heights High School.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Los Angeles for 46 years.

Mrs. Rubenstein was a homemaker. She loved painting, flowers, poetry, the gift of gab, drama, movies, writing and her children.

She was a member of the Valley Association for the Handicapped and of the Jewish faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 1/2 years, Morris A., Jan. 2, 1998 and son Barry S., March 1, 1980.

Among her survivors are her daughters and husbands, Laura and William Vance of Carson City and Sheela and David Clements of Covina, Calif.; brother and wife Sanford and Arlene Nehamkin of Cleveland; five grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Northern Nevada Reno Chapter, 705 S. Wells Ave., Reno 89501.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
