Obituary: Helen L. Boardman

A funeral for Helen L. Boardman, 97, a Carson City resident since 1933 and resident of Valley Meadows Care Center for the past three years, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Boardman died Nov. 6, 1999, at Barton Memorial Hospital at South Lake Tahoe. She was born Nov. 30, 1901, in Oxford, N.J., to Harry and Deliah Willis Hucker.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Gary, Ind.

Mrs. Boardman was formerly active in the PTA in Carson City. She and her late husband were members of the Kitchen Band connected with the Senior Citizens Center that performed at various nursing homes in Carson City and Douglas County. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, in October 1989 and daughter, Alice Schulz, in 1987.

Among her survivors are her sons, Donald, of Carson City and Ralph, of Camarillo, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery, is in charge of arrangements.
