Obituary: Margaret G. Jennings

A funeral for Margaret G. Jennings, 89, of Fresno, Calif., a former Carson City resident, will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Ms. Jennings died May 17, 2000 at WISH-I-AH Care Center in Auberry, Calif. She was born Jan. 7, 1911, in Milpitas, Calif., to Manuel Bettencourt and Ann Frietas.

She had resided in Fresno for four years, before coming from Carson City/Reno area.

Ms. Jennings was the owner of the Bamboo Hut in Yountville, Calif., from 1958 to 1970. After that, she was employed at Silverado County Club in Napa, Calif. for many years.

She was a member of the Native Daughters of California.

Among her survivors are her sons Bob Jennings of Fresno and Larry Fernandes of Brentwood, Calif.; daughters Barbara McCollum of Reno, Bernice Bauman of Fresno and Janet Robertson of Stockton, Calif., 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Private family interment will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
