Obituary: Martha Rodgers

Martha Rodgers, 86, a long-time Carson City resident, died Jan. 8 in Chadron Community Hospital, Chadron, Neb.

She was born July 1, 1913, in Huntsville, Ala., to Theophilus and Mary Burch Mastin. Mrs. Rodgers was a homemaker.

Mrs. Rodgers had recently moved to Nebraska and had lived in Carson City for 36 years, coming from California. She had been active in animal organizations, including the Volunteer Humane Society in Carson City,

She is survived by daughters Louise Rodgers of Reno and Mary Jean Helton of Nebraska, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

No services were held. Cremation was at Behrens Mortuary and Crematory in Rapid City, S.D. Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City was in charge of arrangments.
