Obituary: Patricia Asche Geiger McGuire

A memorial service for Patricia Asche Geiger McGuire, 78, a Springfield, Ore., resident for the past seven years, will be11 a.m. today at St. John the Devine Episcopal Church in Springfield.

Mrs. McQuire died April 18, 2000. She was born March 19, 1922, in Bayard, Neb., to Harry W. and Freda Asche Geiger.

She married John Weldon McGuire Jan. 5, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Before moving to Springfield, she lived in Carson City from 1985-1993.

She graduated from Bishop Clark School of Nursing in 1944.

Mrs. McGuire was a registered nurse. She enjoyed flowers and nature, crocheting, sewing and caring for others. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of St. John the Divine and St. John's Lutheran Church in Leigh, Neb.

She was an ensign NC, U.S. Naval Reserve during World War II.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nov. 5, 1996, and sisters Shirley Bryant in 1986 and Jackie Nielson in 1976.

Among her survivors are her daughter and son-in-law Christie Colleen McGuire and Cecil Recner of San Diego and son Dan McGuire and daughter-in-law Glenna Edwards of Springfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Green Hill Humane Society SPCA, 88350 Greenhill Road, Eugene, OR 97402.
