Obituary: Reed Louritz Hansen

A funeral service for Reed Louritz Hansen, 69, a Carson City resident for 20 years, will be at 1 p.m. today at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fourth Ward, 411 N. Saliman Road, with burial following at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Mr. Hansen died Feb. 10, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born May 29, 1930, in Halfway, Ore., to Ralph and Zella Herring Hansen.

Before coming to Carson City, he lived in Montclair, Calif.

Mr. Hansen was an apartment complex manager.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Fourth Ward in Carson City, for which he was a stake missionary and ward mission leader.

He was married to Marquita Rose Herrera in Saugus, Calif., by his brother, Arlen, who was a bishop in the church. He was sealed in the St. George Temple on Sept. 12, 1992.

Survivors include his wife of Carson City; brother Arlen of St. George, Utah; sisters, Venna Moody of Halfway and Joyce Wright of Washington, Utah; sons, Brent of Highland, Calif., Jeff of Upland, Calif., and Marty of Mount Hood, Ore., Bill Fassett of Reno, Phil Fassett of San Diego, Calif., Glenn Fassett of Phoenix, Ariz., Martin Fassett of Yuma, Ariz.; and Chris and Art Fassett, both of Carson City; daughters, Vicki Nelson of Glendale, Ariz., Tami Mitsch of Upland, Calif., Lori Stephens of Hemet, Calif., and Jodi Guirlani of Dayton; 32 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home in Carson City.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
