A memorial service for Roberta Rae Wilson, 75, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Virginia City, with the Rev. Jody Lediard officiating.
Mrs. Wilson died Feb. 5, 2000, at her residence. She was born April 22, 1924, in San Leandro, Calif., to Ray Edward and Marion Bertha McDonough Bohn.
She married Dr. Richard R. Wilson Feb. 19, 1968, in Carlisle, Pa.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Wasilla, Alaska.
Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker. She opened and operated nursing homes in Fairbanks, Alaska and Gridley, Calif. She was also a seamstress, amateur photographer, a cashier in many department stores and a security investigator. She also helped with her late husband's ministry of the Methodist Church. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dec. 21, 1997; daughter, Dorothy R. Simon and sisters, Lucille Beavert, Alice Jensen and Hazel and three brothers.
Among her survivors are her daughters, Jeannette Kay Saba, of Carson City and Delia M. Underwood, of Carlisle, Pa.; sons, Gene L. Chaput, of Juneau, Alaska, Jerry F. Wilson, of Fairbanks, Alaska, Robert R., Rohrer, of Wasilla and Steven D. Rohrer, of Carson City; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one niece.
Cremation will be at Walton's Carson Sierra Crematory.
