Virginia Arlene McGovern, 77, a Minden resident for the past 10 years, died Feb. 11, 2000, at her residence. She was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Watertown, S.D., to Fred Tarbox.
She married Robert McGovern in San Francisco 48 years ago.
Before moving to Minden, she lived in Ukiah, Calif.
Mrs. McGovern was a juvenile counselor. She was a Lutheran.
Among her survivors are her husband, Robert; daughter, Ferol, of Minden; brother, Marvin Tarbox, of San Francisco; sister, Rose Thompson, of Minnesota; one granddaughter; one grandson; two great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.
A private memorial will be at a later time.
Inurnment will be at Walton's Carson Gardens.
Cremation is at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
