What's closed on holiday weekend

Offices, banks and public buildings will change their schedule for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday. Among the changes:

-- Schools in the Carson City, Douglas, Storey and Lyon school districts will be closed.

-- The Carson City Senior Citizens Center will be open, lunch served at 11:30 a.m.

-- Dayton and Douglas County senior centers will be closed.

-- Carson City Library will be closed and will reopen Tuesday 10 a.m. For information, call 887-2244.

-- Carson City Marriage Bureau will be open from 9a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in the New Courthouse.

-- City, state and federal offices, including courts, will be closed. No mail will be delivered.

-- Financial institutions will be closed.

-- Most businesses will be open.

-- Most medical and dental offices will be open.

-- The Carson City Sheriff's Department will be open for crime reports, but all other offices will be closed. Jail visiting hours are canceled on holidays.

-- Douglas County sheriff's administrative offices will be closed.

-- Lyon County sheriff's administrative offices will be closed. Call 463-6620.
