The Jim Franks Cross Country Classic benefitting the Carson Middle School cross country team will be held today at Spooner Lake State Park.
Registration will be $15 for those under 18 and $20 for adults. Each car will be charged a reduced $1 park use fee.
Race t-shirts and registration will begin at 2 p.m. The sixth grade race will be at 3 p.m., the seventh grade race will be at 3:30, the eighth grade race will be at 4 and the open race will be at five. Girls races will begin first and the boys races will follow 15 minutes late.
Awards will be give to the top seven male and female finishers. Overall male and female winners will receive a pair of Brooks shoes.
The course is a 2.2 mile trail course circling Spooner Lake and includes plenty of hills, creek crossings and sand.
