A graveside service for Lyle E. Simon, 64, a Carson City resident for the past four years, will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Lone Mountain Cemetery, and a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, Family life Center, Carson City.

Viewing will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Mr. Simon died Sept. 19, 2001 at his home of cancer. He was disabled with multiple sclerosis in 1993. He was born Aug. 15, 1937, in Onaga, Kan., to Art and Irma Hylton Simon.

He graduated from Corning High School in 1955.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Grants Pass, Ore.

Mr. Simon was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Carson City and put his heart into deacon work and printing the church paper. He was a member of the Elks for 26 years, and at present was a member of Lodge No. 2670 in Minden. One of his hobbies was bowling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two sisters and a granddaughter.

Among his survivors are his wife of 17 years Jo of Carson City; sons Dan Kondor of Carson City, Jon Simon of Payson, Utah; stepson Clint Lawrence of Costa Mesa, Calif.; daughters Kay Riddle of Yakima, Wash. and Linda Clark of Pasadena, Calif.; sisters Geri Newman of Payette, Idaho, Virginia Malmquist of Chico, Calif. and Darlene Dickison of Corning, Calif.; brother Merle Simon of Corning and 13 grandchildren.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
