A graveside service for Philip D. Johnson, 52, a long-time Carson City resident, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's.

Mr. Johnson died Sept. 19, 2001, in Carson City. He was born March 9, 1949, in San Diego, Calif. to Douglas and Nellie Hockett Taylor.

Mr. Johnson retired as a lieutenant from the Carson City Sheriff's Department in 1998 following 22 years of service.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Johnson and stepfather Phillip Johnson.

Among his survivors are his daughter Tammy Rojas of California; son Christopher Johnson of Reno; father Doug Taylor of Reno; sisters Sharon Vargo of Texas and Phyllis Porter of Florida; brothers Stevon of Las Vegas and and Stanley of Texas, presently in Macedonia.

Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
