Here's what's happening in the Nevada hunting world in the near future:



-- Sept. 28 - Closing day of the archery antlered elk hunting season for management area No. 161-164-Late.



-- Sept. 28-30 - The annual "Wings Over The Valley" Hunting Festival and Wildlife Carving Show in Fallon.



-- Sept. 29 - Opening day of the "any legal weapon" antlered elk hunting season for management area Nos. 161-164-Early. This season will close on Oct. 5.



-- Sept. 30 - Closing day of the "any legal weapon" pronghorn antelope hunting season for management area Nos. 202 and 204. This season will close on Sept. 30.



-- Sept. 30 - Closing day of the "any legal weapon" California bighorn sheep hunting season for most open management areas.



-- Sept. 30 - Closing day of the 2001, Nevada Mourning and White Wing Dove hunting seasons.



-- Oct. 1 - Opening day of the 2001-2002, Nevada trapping season for Beaver, Mink and Muskrat. This season will close on Mar. 31.



-- Oct. 1 - Opening day of the 2001-2002, Nevada trapping season for Otter in Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander and Pershing Counties. This season will close on Mar. 31.



-- Oct. 1 - Opening day of the 2001-2002, Nevada trapping season for Kit Fox and Red Fox. This season will close on Feb. 28.
