MINDEN - Douglas County deputy sheriff Jeffery Roberson is scheduled to stand trial starting Nov. 15 on charges of trespass and misconduct by a public officer.

A preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday in East Fork Justice Court was scrapped and the trial date was set.

The two-day trial will take place before Justice of the Peace Jim EnEarl.

Roberson was charged with the two misdemeanors last month.

Deputy District Attorney Kris Brown has said Roberson is accused of breaking into a county inmate's car after the man was arrested.

The car was parked at Valley Tow on May 27, when Roberson allegedly entered the businesses' car lot, accessed the car and allegedly found methamphetamine.

Roberson, 31, has been a deputy since in Douglas County since 1999.
