Reichardt honored in WAC

Douglas High graduate Brandy Reichardt was among the University of Nevada athletes who were named to the Western Athletic Conference all-academic team in winter sports.


A student-athlete must have had at least a 3.2 grade point average and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests. Fifty-three students in the WAC were honored.


Reichardt, a senior swimmer, has a 3.2 G.P.A. in elementary education.


Other Nevada students to be honored were: Men's basketball -- Matt Ochs, junior, 3.43, education.


Women's basketball -- Ashley Bastian, junior, 3.58, education; Kate Smith, junior, 3.50, speech pathology.


Women's swimming -- Kyndra Battle, 3.84, sophomore, health ecology; Krista Ann Sunderman, senior, 3.60, biology; Megan Jones, sophomore, 3.71, psychology; Kate Oiness, senior, 3.60, management.


Amy Murphy, sophomore, 3.55, undecided; Jennifer McCoy, senior, 3.46, accounting; Alzina Lim, senior, 3.41, general studies; and Jaquelyn Walk, sophomore, 3.34, undecided.
