A questionable call led to the Yerington baseball team's downfall against Manogue.

Yerington was still able to give the Northern 3A power all it could handle, but fell 6-4. The Lions led 1-0 after five innings when it appeared that left fielder Marcus Masini had nailed a Manogue runner at the plate. But the runner was ruled safe.

Manogue went on to hit a two-run home run and score four runs in the inning and led 6-1 before Yerington scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh. Howie Singer had pitched a shutout until the sixth for Yerington.

Jon-Jon Neade had two hits, Josh Farler went 1-for-3 and Michael Lanzino went 1-for-1 for the Lions.
