A funeral Mass for John Irving "Irv" Becker, 74, a Gardnerville resident for the past nine years, will be at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
Mr. Becker died April 9, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 2, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to Edward R. and Anna Schrom Becker.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Tujunga, Calif.
Mr. Becker served in the Merchant Marine. He loved cars, driving and jazz. He was a test driver for seven years at NATC.
Among his survivors are his wife of 54 years Peggy of Gardnerville; sons Larry and Max of Sunland, Calif., and Jack and wife Terry of Folsom, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law Sally and Jim Boike of San Francisco, Maggie and David Aronoff of Fayetteville, Ga., Anne Marie and Art Riel of Sunland, Calif., and Caroline and Mil Blair of Burbank, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
Burial will be at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
